Sha ’protagonist of the summer on the slopes of Mount Etna
Smiles were the setting around which the sixth edition of Sha’ took place, the champagne festival held every year on the last Sunday of August, representing the banquet of the Pennisi family and their guests. The location is the courtyard in front of Shalai's Michelin-star restaurant and boutique hotel, in Linguaglossa on the slopes of Mount Etna. For the occasion, this space is transformed into an enchanted place where you can experience a dream evening.
Every year the magic of the unknown creates great suspense that promptly involves everyone present.
In a beautiful, colourful, and fragrant Sicilian Garden, faithfully reproduced in the space in front of Shalai, you can breathe the beauty of Sicily, the intensity of the places, the charm of elegance, and the pleasure of sharing.
In several locations, the kitchen brigade led by chef Giovanni Santoro was the host who, for this edition, has surpassed itself in terms of refinement and uniqueness of the dishes offered.
The 2022 edition of Sha’ was a tribute to French cuisine of which chef Santoro is a great supporter and admirer. So, in tasting, among the dishes proposed, there were the Terrina di foie gras, the Escargots à la Bourguignonne, the Bouillabaisse, Quiche Lorraine, Crêpes Suzette, and Croquembouche, just to name a few. A riot of taste and emotions made even more vivid by the wonderful uncorked champagnes. Magnum of noble wineries that have definitely entertained. The champagne festival again this year stole the show on Mount Etna, turning the spotlight on an unmissable and always young event. Present as every year are the guys from the historic cocktail bar in Taormina 'Morgana' who created an original drink in honor of Sha’, strengthening the great and deep friendship with the Pennisi family.
The places have once again told of that attachment to the territory that distinguishes Shalai. Giovanni Santoro's cuisine has flown beyond the Alps, without ever forgetting the starting point which is Sicily. The countless glasses of champagne that were raised represented, ideally, a single and strong toast of good wishes so that we continue to experience these places with the emotional intensity they generate.
Even a party can be, as Sha’ is, a sum of many actors who aim for excellence to make Sicily and its people dream, an occasion to let people know quality raw materials and who everyday work with them, an event to be protagonists of a dream full of bubbles that will accompany us for the next months until August 2023 with the next edition of Sha’, the Pennisi family champagne festival!
